Sometimes a space just needs one well-placed feature to pull everything together. That's exactly what this Wimberley property needed - a bare concrete ledge running along a stone retaining wall with nothing to break it up or give it any personality. The bones were great. The setting was beautiful. It just needed something to finish it.

We custom fabricated these corten steel planter boxes from scratch to fit the exact dimensions of the space. Each one was cut, shaped, and welded on-site - fitted with small standoff legs so they sit clean and level on the ledge. Nothing was off-the-shelf here. The size, the depth, the profile - all of it was dialed in specifically for this spot.

What we love about corten steel for a project like this is that it works with the environment instead of fighting it. Against the cedar and corrugated metal siding of this Hill Country cabin, the steel tone fits right in. It's got that raw, natural look that blends into the landscape rather than sticking out. And it's built to handle years of Texas weather without falling apart.

The result speaks for itself. Planted up and settled into their spots along the stone wall, these boxes give the whole front face of the property a finished, intentional look. Plenty of room for color to spill over the sides, and a clean straight line that frames the space. It went from an afterthought to one of the first things you notice when you pull up.

Custom metal fabrication and welding work like this is something we genuinely enjoy - especially when the property has as much character as this one does. If you've got a space that needs a one-of-a-kind feature built to fit, that's exactly what we do.
